Securing your information
When WorkCover's web services capture your personal information it is encrypted in transit through to our servers using Transport Layer Security (TLS), to ensure it is protected over the internet.
Information stored about you is further protected from unauthorised access through the use of firewalls and access control restrictions.

Information logged
We collect information about your use of our website, but we do not record any personal information.
We record:
- the user agent (type, version, operating system) of the browser used
- your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc)
- your server's IP address (a number which is unique to the machine through which you are connected to the Internet: usually one of your service provider's machines)
- pages accessed and any documents downloaded
- the address of the referring site (for example, the previous site visited)
- the date and time of your visit.
Information obtained from your general access is retained for purposes of network analysis, usage analysis and research into usage patterns for the purpose of improving our online services. Individual machines or users' browsing activities are not uniquely identified. No information collected will be released externally. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities, except in the unlikely event of an investigation where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant.
IP collection
Like most online applications, WorkCover online services store your internet protocol (IP) address. Your IP address is the identifier for your computer when you are using the internet. WorkCover uses this information for security and audit purposes only.
Website Analytics
We use Google Analytics (including demographics) on our website to gather anonymous information about visitors to our website. When you visit our web pages, your browser automatically sends anonymous information to Google. Examples of the information include the web address of the page that you’re visiting, your IP address and demographic information. Google may also use cookies.

Facebook Pixel
WorkCover uses Facebook Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. Facebook Pixel is an analytics tool that allows measurement of the effectiveness of campaigns based on website usage. Facebook Pixel may use cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect information from our website.
By default, Facebook Pixel may collect or receive information when you access our website and use the information to provide measurement services and target campaigns. If you do not want your information collected or received by Facebook Pixel, you may opt-out of Facebook’s use of cookies and Facebook Pixel through the settings on your Facebook account. Email correspondence and feedback information
This is a Queensland Government website. Email correspondence sent to this site will be treated as a public record and will be retained in accordance with statutory requirements.
Your name and address details will not be added to a mailing list. We will forward an email to the Workers' Compensation Regulator if the query relates to them, but we will not otherwise disclose your name and address to third parties without your consent, unless required by law.
Email messages may be monitored and/or quarantined by our Business Solutions division for system trouble shooting and maintenance purposes and to ensure that inappropriate material is not circulated. Quarantined email messages are generally retained for approximately one month until they are deleted from our system.
