Amusement Devices Code of Practice 2023

The Amusement Devices Code of Practice 2023 (PDF, 1 MB) (the Code) commenced as an approved code of practice under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 on 1 February 2024.

The Code is a practical guide on how to manage health and safety risks associated with an amusement device at a workplace.

The Code has been developed in Queensland and is not a national model code of practice. However, guidance material about amusement devices developed by Safe Work Australia has been adapted and included in the Code.

The Code complements requirements in the WHS Act and WHS Regulation regarding plant and amusement devices at workplaces. The Code also replaces the WHSQ publication Amusement device major inspections interim guidance.
