Certificate of test - amendment
An amended version of the Certificate of test template is now available for electrical contractors.
The changes to the Certificate of test (such as removing the requirement for a signature) aligns the template more closely with the legislative requirements for a Certificate of test detailed in s26 and s227 of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013. This will streamline the issuing of Certificates of test and avoid confusion over who the appropriate signatory on a Certificate of test should be.
Under the regulation, electrical contractors, and workers completing work on behalf of an electrical contractor, must provide their customers with one or both of the following:
- Certificate of testing and safety for work on electrical equipment.
- Certificate of testing and compliance for electrical installation work.
Remember electrical contractors must keep a copy of these certificates for five years.
The Certificate of test template - Issuing certificates of compliance is provided in both MS Word and PDF formats on the WorkSafe website.
