Free farm safety calendar offer extended!

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has more free farm safety calendars to give away.

They are disappearing quickly, so now is the time to secure yours.

The calendar features the work of primary school students who entered drawings in the annual Workplace Health and Safety Queensland farm safety calendar competition, addressing safety themes common to working on the land.

Apart from the 12 winning children who received a $250 gift voucher and $500 for their school, their drawings serve as a timely reminder of the need to work safely on the land.

The winners and their schools, parents, and communities know working in agriculture can be rewarding, but it is also one of our most dangerous industries. It employs around three per cent of Queensland’s workers but accounts for more than 30 per cent of workplace deaths, with farm vehicles involved in a large proportion of those.

The colourful calendar sees safety messages prominently displayed in 35,000 homes and workplaces throughout the year, reminding Queenslanders of all ages to work and play safely on farm properties.

There were almost 1500 entries from across Queensland that were judged by representatives from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, the Electrical Safety Office, the Department of Education, Queensland Country Women’s Association, AgGrow Queensland, and Growcom.

Check out the winning entries and order your free copy of the 2023 calendar.
