Stevedoring code of practice update

The Managing Risks in Stevedoring Code of Practice 2018 was due to expire on 31 March 2023 but still applies after being approved to re-commence without change.

Since the Code commenced in March 2018, there has been a significant reduction in the average number of serious workers’ compensation claims from 57 to 38 per annum.

A review of the national Stevedoring Code is due to commence soon and will seek to identify any updates needed to ensure it continues to operate effectively. Once the national review has been completed, adoption of any amendments will be considered for the Queensland Code.
