Have your say – options to improve WHS incident notification
Public consultation on potential options to improve the operation of the incident notification provisions in the model work health and safety (WHS) laws closes soon.
Submissions will be accepted by Safe Work Australia (SWA) until 11 September 2023.
The consultation paper includes options for consideration that would:
- capture psychological injuries, illnesses and harm, and psychosocial hazards (including workplace violence, bullying and harassment)
- introduce periodic reporting (six-monthly) for certain incidents where immediate notification is not required.
Responses to the consultation paper will inform the findings to be provided to SWA Members in late 2023 and any final recommendations to WHS Ministers.
