Nearly half of workers who’ve had a workplace injury will experience a psychological response following it. If a worker feels supported by their employer, confident and positive about their recovery, they’re less likely to experience psychological responses. They will also generally achieve better recovery and return to work outcomes.
An approach that places the injured worker front and centre of their recovery and return to work. Being person-centred occurs when you work in collaboration with an injured worker rather than telling or doing things to them.
Be aware that claims farming is now banned in Queensland and support your worker if they are cold-called and pressured to make a claim or to hand over their personal information.
