Claim farming banned under new Queensland laws
Best practice
Be aware that claims farming is now banned in Queensland and support your worker if they are cold-called and pressured to make a claim or to hand over their personal information.
Why this is important
Claim farmers don’t support injured workers but instead harass them with unwanted phone calls and messages. They breach a worker’s privacy, sell personal details and target workers to make a profit.
These farmed claims can also result in false promises, misinformation about rights and entitlements and can increase legal costs for injured workers.

The amendments build on similar measures in the Motor Accident Insurance and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2019 which was implemented to stop the increasing practice of claim farming compulsory third party claims.
